The day was mostly Legislation and more Legislation. Based on the resolutions we have passed, the General Convention has solved every problem from domestic poverty to bad breath. On a more substantive vein, we did approve a major revision of the Title IV Canons, the disciplinary Canons, and decided a hotly disputed Episcopal election in the Diocese of Ecuador Central. The House of Bishops surprised everyone by amending slightly and sending back to the Deputies Resolution D-025, concerning how open the Church is to Ordaining more publically gay Bishops. The Deputies will deal with the amended resolution later this week.
Money is tight, and the proposed Budget that will be presented at a joint session on Wednesday will be tighter than anyone wants, and promises to include some major changes in how the Church operates. That should be an interesting session.
