I took a bit of a Sabbath today. After what may be our last Committee meeting this morning, a few hours on the floor of the House of Deputies, and Eucharist, I traded out with Pat Russell, our Clergy Alternate, and took the afternoon and evening off. I spent some time visiting the House of Bishops, in the Exhibit Hall, and thinking about considering packing up Thin I went to Disneyland. Since it's right here, about a 15 minute walk, it seemed obligatory. There were more people there than in most of the counties I have lived in; but it was a pleasant time, and it was fun to see the nightly fireworks right in front of me, although the view from the Hospitality Suite is more comfortable.
I hear that the Deputies were busy while I was gone, passing the Bishop's version of D-025. During the morning session, we spent a lot of time on the revision to Lesser Feasts and Fasts, and ended up agreeing with the Standing Liturgical Commission and the Committee on Liturgy and Worship and adding over 100 names, for trial use, to the Church's calendar. I think it's silly, but you can't win 'em all.
As always, there is no telling what tomorrow will bring.

| After the last (we hope) Committee meeting, the Chair gave a stole to our Legislative aide. | The folks here are able to turn what is basically a huge barn into a welcoming place for worship. |

| During some of the less engaging debate, our Deputies were able to amuse themselves. | In the House of Deputies, it was hard to see our ecumenical and interreligious visitors. |

| It was much easier in the House of Bishops. | And, when all else fails, there is always the real Fantasyland. |
